This brooch is a stunner!

Very, very large, measuring 3.5" wide and 2.75" tall, this pot metal beauty combines foiled and unfoiled stones in a pleasing four sided design. The largest faceted round stones are clear and the square and all the rest are either foiled or have closed backs. The foil is in great shape for the age of this brooch, which I am guessing dates at least back to the 1950s. The stones are primarily prong set, with a faux burr finish to them. The only foil loss I can see is just on the tips of the largest stones, and there is no darkening from the front at all visible. Strong clasp, just all over great. If this doesn't draw compliments, I don't know what it takes!
