SOLD 14K Gold Victorian Mercury Intaglio Ring ~ Green Onyx

Dating to the Victorian era, this 14k gold (tested) ring features an intaglio of Mercury carved into a green onyx gemstone. The mounting has an embossed floral and scroll work design on either side. Excellent workmanship and solidly made with a closed back. It appears to be suitable for either a man or a woman. Ring size is an 8 and it could be sized up or down within reason. The top measures 1/2" square. Minor wear, no damages or repairs. All original. Due to the lack of contrast in the stone it was difficult to photograph this piece.
