Period Georgian mourning ring, set in 14K gold (tested), inscribed 'Jane Fiddler, Died 1st Nov. 1815, Aged 55' on the inside of the band. The sides of the band are enameled in black with an engraved urn on either side. The hair compartment on top is surrounded by seed pearls which signify the tears of the loved ones in mourning jewelry. Under the bezel set glass compartment is loosely woven brown hair. The mounting is substantial and extremely well made. Very good condition, the mounting shows little wear but the pearls show more wear and are no longer well matched. In my images they appear far worse than they do to the naked eye. My camera tends to exaggerate the tiniest of flaws. Ring size 7 and the top measures just under 1/2" by just over 1/2". All items are guaranteed and shipping is free worldwide.
