Our Service Pledge To You:
- We are lovers of history and all antique and vintage items however, we are not a published expert in any of the items we carry.

-Price our items against like items in a fair and competitive manner.

-Submit excellent pictures to add in decision making. Our photographs may or may not be accurate scale.
We believe in good photography. If you need more pictures, just ask!

-We are not certified gemologists. All carat weights and measurements are approximate and may vary slightly from the listed dimensions.

We ship quickly, mostly every day.

If it wasn't what you expected and want to return it, let us know. Our policy is a THREE day return from the day of receipt. We will not take any refunds after 3 days-no exceptions. We do use delivery confirmation. We do not have a restocking fee on jewelry. We do have a 15% restocking fee on hats and vintage clothing.

Shipping/Handling/Insurance Policy:
We often run store wide "free shipping.” In those transactions, we pay for shipping and delivery confirmation. Buyers are required to purchase insurance unless other wise noted.

All shipping is done through the United States Postal Service. We ship most days. Jewelry is shipped first class mail unless other wise indicated. Priority mail or Overnight is available at customer's expense. Please email us for more information. Depending on price, we ship all non-jewelry items parcel post or priority mail, what is most cost effective. If an item is needed quickly, we are happy to expedite the order, please ask for details. Insurance costs are at customer's expense.

*We will gladly ship world wide. We use the United States Post Office and either Global Priority Mail or First Class International mail. We do not guarantee any item shipped overseas to arrive. We also have no control over the speed of any carrier. $4.00 fixed shipping rate is for First Class International mail only. This price does not include insurance.

*Although we try and pack carefully, accidents do happen. If there is breakage, the shipping service should be contacted. Please do not send the item back to us as that voids any insurance claim.

*Because we do use delivery confirmation, we are only able to tell if the item was delivered to a location.

Restocking Fee:
There is no restocking fee on jewelry. There is 15% restocking fee on hats, clothing and lingerie. We do not pay for any postage or shipping costs incurred should a return be necessary.

Other Information:
We do accept PayPal, money orders, personal checks and cashier's check. We do not except any other form of online payment. We cannot take charge cards over the phone. If paying by PayPal, money order, or cashiers check, your order will be processed when your payment has been received and has cleared. We do require a 14 business day holding period on all checks. At this time we only take personal checks drawn on American banks.

If you are new to PayPal and need assistance, feel free to email us. Once received, money orders and cashier's checks are treated as cash.

LAYAWAY
-Lay-A-Way requirements: 50% down with initial order (which includes shipping), second payment of 25% within 20 days of order, last payment in another 20 days or within 40 days of purchase.

Lay - A - Way through White Oaks of Raleigh is a service we are happy to provide. However, buyers who violate this policy will loose existing payment/payments along with merchandise. Payments are non-refundable. There are no refunds on lay-a-way items. Buyers must agree, by email, to the terms of White Oaks of Raleigh's Lay-A-Way plan. Mint: New
Near Mint: Unpolished silver, stored properly, appears never to have been worn or used
Excellent:
No chipping or fading, peeling or cracking, no stone discoloration, or worn fittings. May have replaced stones, or decorative trim but this is unnoticeable. Top condition
Very Good:
No missing stones, ruined pearls, missing fittings, or obvious defects. Enamel may have slight chipping, stones or decorative accessories may have been replaced. Sight scratching and some wear.
Good:
On close examination, may reveal some clouding, minor changes in stone color, yellowing, chipping, and wear.
Very wearable and acceptable.
Fair:
Damage is immediately visible and may or may not be repairable, and might include missing stones, dark stones including very obvious spotting stains, broken parts, & severe wear.

*We describe when we know any item has had repair work or when silver and other collectables have been cleaned. We advise when we believe an item can be successfully repaired; however, we do not claim to be jewelers or experts in stones.

Costume jewelry was not designed to last like fine jewelry. It does tend to age rapidly, have enamel wear, loose stones, have yellowed stones and chipping and scratching. Vintage hats are also delicate and usually have some type of wear unless they are Mint. Please keep these things in mind when making a buying decision. As always we are available to answer questions.
