Pretty vintage soup tureen is a nice size, able to accommodate stews and other dishes a bit more robust than soup. The tureen is nestled on a 10 1/2" charger plate. The tureen shares the same wine color and holds approximately 64 fluid ounces or 8 cups. The matching ladle is ivory.

From the bottom of the charger to the knob at the top, this tureen measures approximately 11" and the tureen is 9 14". Total weight of all three pieces is 4 1/2 pounds. This in important since they quickly gained weight when filled.

The design is a decal while the lined borders, handles and the knob on the tureen are hand painted.

There is a partial label on the bottom of the charger. All that is legible is the word Seal and Japan.

In very good vintage condition, there is one chip on the charger. In addition, there are two tiny chips, one on the handle and one on the rim. These are not noticeable but should be mentioned. The pictures show rest markings on the ladle. A wonderful set for the kitchen or the dining room.
