About Us
I think it is safe to say that everyone who designs custom jewelry is a bead-a-holic and I am no exception to that premise. I often feel the "need to bead" and have never met a bead I didn't like. Okay I will stop with the clichés but before I do I have to confess that more times than I care to admit my family has accused me of being lost in Beadland.
The name of my shop is my state of mind when I am designing my creations. Welcome to A Whimsical Place.

I love artisan made Italian glass lampwork beads. I even tried my hand at designing my own unfortunately my hand was not steady enough at the torch. For this reason I think I appreciate beautiful creations even more because I know what it takes to achieve such designs. I have great fun surfing the net for glass artists who craft exquisite beads that I can use in my jewelry.
I also love polymer clay, what a wonderful medium. With the desire to fashion my own designer beads it became the perfect avenue for me to express my creativity. Polymer clay is so versatile and its attributes are many. The two most remarkable things in my opinion are; first the fact that you can make a large and very detailed design in the form of a clay cane that can be reduced to 1/8 inch cylinders and still retain the detail of the design and second the fact that after baking the beads can be sanded and buffed to the most beautiful silky smooth texture. After the sanding and buffing process the beads are so pleasing to the touch you feel compelled to rub them like a worry stone.

I have an eclectic approach to designing my jewelry you will see that through out my shop. Designs range from simple and casual to sophisticated and elegant. The bead types and finding are varied and numerous. Customer service is the top priority and satisfaction is guaranteed. Feel free to ask any questions I will reply promptly.
