Great Vintage Art Deco 9k White Gold and Sapphire Band

This wonderful Art Deco Sapphire half eternity band is done in 9 karat white gold. Nine karat gold was used a lot by the English and although the French didn't consider anything less than 18 karat to be truly worthy of being called gold, the English were a bit more practical. Gold, you see, is a very soft metal, as metals go, and so the lower the karat, the lower the percentage of gold used (24 karat is 100% pure gold), the harder the metal. Lovely eternity bands like this one were made in 18 karat gold as well, but they didn't retain the full intricacies of pattern because the gold was soft and easily worn down.

This ring is quite lovely, the round cut sapphires go actually about 2/3 of the way around the finger and the back and sides are wonderfully carved and detailed. Made in 9 karat gold (tested, not marked). The sapphires are a wonderful rich blue and quite well matched. The ring weighs 2 grams and is in great condition. It is a size 8 and would be near impossible to size.

This one would made a spectacular wedding or anniversary band!

Please note that in general I do not clean or polish any items before photographing them. I will certainly have my jeweler clean all appropriate items before they are sent out (some items should not be cleaned and I will note this upon purchase). Also, sizing is available on most rings unless otherwise noted. There is a nominal charge and it will add about a day to when the order goes out (sizing is included in any purchase over $2,500).
