In remarkable condition, the lady who sold me this one said it was her mom's personal favorite amongst her many Shermans. Well just double-click on those photos and it's easy to understand why.
The necklace is 15" long and features the older style clasp Sherman used, still very tight. That incredible centerpiece runs for 3" east to west, while the full pendant section is 2" north to south. The brilliant "sunburst" in the center is 1" in diameter, and the drop below it is 1 1/4". The art deco influence is obvious in this gorgeous necklace.
The sparkling clear swarovski crystals used in this necklace are a combination of round-cuts, pear-shapes and 1/8" baguettes in the "sunburst". In the center of the sunburst is a triple layer of stones, clustered to emanate maximum glitter.
Speaking of glitter, boy, does this Sherman necklace glitter. If these were diamonds, the value of the piece would be immeasurable. But one thing's certain: everyone looking at this necklace when you're wearing it is going to wonder if these are diamonds. They are so clear and sparkling.
The rear of the necklace shows very little wear, if any. It's a shiny silvery rhodium-plate with "Sherman" stamped on the back of that "sunburst". Truly a collector's piece for both its design and condition.
From the same lady, I secured a gorgeous pair of dangling earrings by Kramer that would go well with this necklace if you don't have earrings to suit. I'll be listing them next. In the meantime, if Sherman is your designer, don't let this one get away!
