There's a single large (5/8" X 1/2") prong-set oval saphiret cabochon in each earring. It's surrounded by 12 rich-colored topaz or cognac rhinestones, still with excellent clarity and sparkle, bringing the overall size of each earring to 1" X 3/4".

The two saphirets themselves are positively lovely. There's next to no scratches or blemishes on their smooth surface, and only through a loupe will you see the foil underneath showing some breakdown. It's not visible to the naked eye at all. The color in those saphirets is gorgeous: rich deep, purple blues interplaying with soft browns. Such pretty stones!

As you will see from the photos of the rears of the earrings, someone has obviously lost one of the original butterfly studs and has been using a large plastic stud on one of the earrings. This is easily corrected if you have an old butterfly stud lying around in your jewelry box. I would have replaced this for you but I don't currently have any replacements in my possession.
