London Blue 3.33 ct Topaz & .88 ct VS Diamond Ring in 14k- Just Appraised at $3200 USD!

We knew we'd found a winner when we acquired this gorgeous London Blue Topaz Ring a few months back and now we've had confirmation. It appraised on September 3, 2009, at $3550 CAD. Set in a substantial amount of 14k yellow gold, the ring weighs 8.7 grams. But that fact is secondary to its diamond and gemstone composition.

Its focus is the electrifying London Blue Topaz marquise-cut stone in its center. A whopping 3.3cts, this natural topaz gemstone measures approximately 15mm long by 7 mm. With fabulous faceting and being open-backed, the clarity and glitter is superb.

Then there's the diamonds that surround it. At either end are 5 round cut diamonds and flanking it on each side are 8 baguette cut diamonds. This adds up to 26 diamonds or .88 cts of VVS - VS clarity and G-H color. It just doesn't get much better than this!

A size 7, there would be no problem resizing up or down if needed. The band gradually widens from 1/16" at the bottom to a full 1/2" at the top. The top of the ring measures 22mm X 14mm or if you prefer, 7/8" long by 1/2" wide. The designer's name is stamped inside the band, along with 14k, but I cannot quite make out the name as it's worn away somewhat over the years.

Now, a word about the photos: this ring was super hard to photograph: we kept getting reflections from the underside (where the stone was never polished i.e. finished to the same level as the top was). This anomaly has made that topaz look like it has a central peak that is damaged or worn, as it appears in photos # 6 & 7. But there is NO central peak! The topaz stone is flat on top, as you can see in the first photo and the last two pictures. So don't worry about damage or wear to this stone: there are tiny surface scratches but they are so miniscule they are barely seen even through a loupe. There are NO chips or major abrasions of any kind. We had the same problem with some of the side shots: you'll see lines that look like damage but there isn't any!
