Back in March I had a wonderful time performing in a show called "The Golden Age of Variety". If you must know, I sang "Moonglow" but that's all beside the point. Why I mention it is that to put the finishing touch on the evening gown I was wearing, I selected this sensational 3-piece set by Bergere. It was the perfect choice: as I walked across the stage, the lights caught the lovely red/purple aurora borealis glass crystals and gave me all the glitter I could want. Both my co-performers and members of the audience during our "meet and greet" wanted to know all about the set. It was a pleasure to tell them it was vintage jewelry by a well-known designer, Bergere, and no-one had to tell them how well it had held up over all the years.

So, if you're looking to add a Bergere to your vintage jewelry collection and appreciate quality workmanship, you've found it in this set, consisting of a heavy 2-row necklace, matching 2-row bracelet and glamorous clip-on earrings.

The earrings each weigh just under 7 grams and measure just over 1" top to bottom and exactly 1" side to side. The stunning bracelet is just under 7" long and has the most gorgeous clasp (see pictures) that's a full 5/8" in diameter. The filigree gold-colored findings between the 3/8" diameter red/purple crystal beads are lovely.

The necklace has one row approximately 13" long and the second row is between 14 - 15". The closing is a simple J-hook inserted at your comfort level in the 2" extender but for the most part, this necklace is worn close to the throat, choker-style.

This set belonged to a former model who really looked after her massive jewelry collection. I've been fortunate to acquire several of her lovely pieces, but this is one of the nicest. Yes, there's some wear to the AB wash, but that is to be expected from a set that's been worn and enjoyed. It still looks amazing. You'll notice we took some photos holding the pieces up to the light so you could see that the reds are reds, and not dark as appears in some of the other photos. Not an easy one to photograph for colors.
