For those who aren't familiar with Black Hills Gold jewelry, I found this information on Wikipedia:

"Black Hills gold jewelry was first created in the 1870's during the Black Hills Gold Rush by a French goldsmith named Henri LeBeauold, who is said to have dreamed about the design after passing out from thirst and starvation" How true that is is anyone's guess! But here's more:

Black Hills Gold jewelry uses grapes, grape leaves and grape stems and are easily recognizable for their unique colors. Silver is alloyed with the yellow gold to produce the green hue, and copper is alloyed with the yellow gold to make the red or pink gold."

Well that's what we have here: a stunning 15" chain necklace that culminates in a lovely 1 1/2 inch pendant depicting leaves and bunches of grapes. The nearly 1/2 inch leaves are rose gold and yellow-green and between them rests the bright yellow gold 1/4" grape cluster. Then back of the 3/4" wide pendant is stamped "Black Hills Gold 10k - 12k"

The matching earrings dangle a full inch from where a tiny leaf sits on your ear lobe to the grape cluster at the bottom. These earrings are for pierced ears and are stamped 1/20th 14k gold filled on the stud and a full 12k on the back of the leaves themselves.

This beautiful set came from an estate sale in Florida and is in great condition. If you have any doubt whether this is genuine BHG jewelry and a vintage piece as well, this information will help:

1) "Look at the colors of the gold in the jewelry. Black Hills Gold comes in yellow gold, green gold and pink gold. The oldest, traditional designs feature pink and green leaves on gold background with gold vines and grapes."
