I was born a month too early! Given that my star sign is Aquarius, that I'm keen on swimming, and that aquamarine is currently my favorite gemstone, I should have been born in March! Or aquamarine should be the birthstone for February LOL!

But now, if you or someone you love has a March birthday, then what a fantastic gift this glorious necklace would be. More accurately though, what a fabulous gift this would make for someone special at any time of year: think anniversary or Christmas.

In case you haven't noticed, aquamarine is suddenly super popular, and commanding high prices too. Here's some information I got off a reputable gemstone website regarding aquamarine:

"Aquamarine is one of our most popular and best-known gemstones, and distinguishes itself by many good qualities. It is almost as popular as the classics: ruby, sapphire and emerald. In fact it is related to the emerald, both belonging to the beryl family. The colour of aquamarine, however, is usually more even than that of the emerald. Much more often than its famous green cousin, aquamarine is almost entirely free of inclusions. Aquamarine has good hardness (7.5 to 8 on the Mohs scale) and a wonderful shine. That hardness makes it very tough and protects it to a large extent from scratches."

So now, look what we have here: a gorgeous 1.07ct aquamarine blue/green stone centered in a wreath of 38 single cut diamonds of VS - Si clarity and G - H color. Wow! Then branching away from the wreath are 9 bezel set diamonds of the same quality while positioned above the aquamarine is a single old European cut diamond of Si quality and H - I color. Overall, the total carat weight of diamonds in this stunning necklace is 0.75cts.

The oval cut aquamarine itself is bezel set and measures 8mm X 6mm X 4mm. The wreath section ie. the pendant is 7/8" X 3/4" or 25mm X 18mm. The full centerpiece is 1 1/2" or 4cms long. The full fall of the necklace is 18".

All of this ... well, magnificence ... is set into 18k white gold. Even the chain has been cut in such a way that it glitters, almost as if it had tiny diamonds all along it. Honestly, I don't think we've offered a more exquisite necklace.

Oh, I almost forgot to mention that we had this one appraised too (see photo #8) and it is valued at $3150 CAD or around $2800 USD depending on dollar fluctuations. The appraisal is included in our asking price, along with fully insured shipping.

Custom-made, hand-assembled, 3/4 cts of diamonds and a 1.07ct aquamarine all set in 18k ... this is a luxury item. No wonder my jeweler said this should be a family heirloom too and believe me, both my daughters want this one. But there's only one of it. So who will be the lucky new owner? Will it be you?
