THIS RING IS NOW AT MY COST.
Circa 1960-1970, this absolutely awesome 14k yellow gold dome cluster ring features 59 diamonds set in 3 different styles, all coming together to make one brilliantly sparkling diamond ring!
Running along the perimeter of the ring are 32 bead-set round brilliant cut diamonds (16 per side) that gradually increase in size from approximately 1pt to 4pts each. They are closely set beside each other creating a band of diamonds that edge the top of the ring. Their brilliance is just incredible, with every facet jumping with fire!
Moving inwards we get to the most fascinating part of this ring: 36 individually bezel-set round brilliant diamonds, each set apart by the gorgeous lattice basket-style 14k gold weave that makes the "dome" of the ring. We've never seen this much detailing in one ring - 36 bezel set diamonds - it's amazing! Though tiny, these little sparklers pack a lot of punch, and the lattice cut outs make for a super elegant yet fun design!
Central to this fabulous ring is one larger butter-cup set round brilliant diamond that sits higher than the rest, yet blends in perfectly with all the other diamonds in the ring. This diamond is approximately 0.20ct in size and is held securely in place with 6 prongs. Due to the butter-cup, light can get in and around the diamond completely, allowing it to glow constantly! All the diamonds are excellent Si1-Si2 clarity and G-H-I color. The overall approximate diamond carat weight is 1.10cts. At its widest point the ring measures 16.88mm (0.665 in).
The ring is in PERFECT condition and looks to have been worn very little over the years! We rate the Estate condition of this ring 9.5 out of 10! The ONLY wear is to the markings inside which are nearly impossible to read...see if you can make them out from the picture we've provided. We've acid tested the gold just to make sure it's definitely 14k.
This fantastic ring is just so well made, we can't say enough about it. Whether you want to call it a cluster ring, or a cocktail/evening ring, it will leave you and everyone around you speechless!
US Size 7 3/4 - 8; Possibly re-sizable; Sizing balls or a sizing bar would probably be easier to accommodate.
