Just look at the clarity of this diamond!! Wow!!! In superb condition, this vintage estate engagement ring (circa 1970s) boasts one glorious CERTIFIED 0.61ct VS1 clarity round brilliant cut diamond set in thick 14k yellow and white gold. If you're looking for an elegant engagement ring with a very fine diamond, look no further!

From what we know about this ring, it was an engagement/wedding ring in the 1970s, and in 1997, the diamond was removed, weighed, certified and re-set into its original setting. Perhaps the prongs had worn down over the years and for safe-keeping (and insurance purposes) it was best to remove and repair, or maybe the owner had planned on doing something different with the diamond but decided not to. Either way, the ring is as it was when first purchased, except it's accompanied now with the certification for the diamond when it was weighed loose.

Measuring 5.43 - 5.47 x 3.20mm, the "exact total weight" of the diamond is 0.61ct. Its clarity is VS-1, color I, and its cut medium good. This certification was done by a G.I.A. Graduate Gemologist in August of 1997 and at that time, JUST the diamond was valued at $6,600.00 CDN (over $6000.00 US with current exchange rate). The gold is NOT included in that evaluation, but it can be assumed that 12 years later, the overall value would have appreciated nicely!

This beautiful diamond ring will work with pretty much any style of band, if you wanted to wear a band with it, or you could stack it with other diamond rings and bands. The head holding the diamond is 14k white gold, while the band is yellow, so it will also work with either color gold. Currently a US size 6 is very easily sizable, and is clearly stamped "14k". The certification will come with the ring for your insurance purposes.
