This is a fascinating one of a kind antique carved wooden folk art figure of a seated man. In his permanently seated position he is 13" tall, without the hat. His head, torso, hands and legs are all carved wood. His upper arms are wired and wrapped in cotton.

He is snappily dressed in a black velvet coat with a double row of silver metal buttons over a red silk waistcoat. He has leather breeches with red silk ribbons tied above his painted black boots. A once white cravat finishes of his wardrobe. The black top hat appears to be a more recent addition.

He is seated on a stump of natural wood, attached to a green painted wooden base. He is loosely attached to his seat by a wooden peg, but can be lifted off. His legs are attached to the torso by metal nails but they can also be pulled loose. This may have been intentional so he can be easily posed. His right arm is detached from the shoulder but contained within the sleeve, again this may have been intentional so he can be posed. The left arm is attached at the shoulder but can be moved up and down. The head has a little mobility but doesn't really turn.

Condition: There's a chip from the black hair on his left side. Patch of old glue (?) residue on one knee. His right arm is detached at the shoulder, and legs will detach from hips - both not necessarily defects though.

He is a very interesting fellow, with pleasant expression and fun to pose.
