This hefty Mexican sterling silver brooch features an ethnic Indian carved green stone face in the center surrounded by a wide decoratively cut out silver frame. It is marked only MEXICO SILVER, predating the later Mexican standardized marks. The green stone is often called Mexican jade, but I believe it is actually green agate.

The brooch weighs 42.1 gr and measures an impressive 3.125" x 2.5".

Condition is good.

This is a real statement piece. Well crafted and weighty.
