This is a rare antique steel mesh doll's purse, containing a small folded handkerchief. It is estimated to date from the mid 1800s at the latest, and quite possibly as early as the Georgian period early 1800s.

The body of the purse measures 2.25" x 1.75". The handle is 2" long. The dangles on the bottom add another .5" in length.

Condition is good for age and material. The body of the purse is currently slightly skewed but can be tweaked back into a squarer form. The steel mesh handle has minor rust on the finish, but does not effect strength or integrity of the metal.

This is truly a rare early little Victorian period steel mesh purse. It is probably German or French made. A perfect accessory for an early antique doll.
