SALE Rare Early Antique Mother of Pearl & Cut Steel Cameo Brooch

This is a seldom seen oval carved mother of pearl cameo brooch with faceted cut steels set around the perimeter. The carving depicts a woman facing to the left, wearing a garland across her hair and dressed in a Grecian robe. There are 8 faceted cut steel "buttons" around the edge. The cameo is held in a simple 4 pronged steel setting. It has a C clasp.

The brooch measures 1.5" x 1.25". It weighs 12.5 gr.

Condition: There are 2 very tiny flakes off the very bottom edge of the cameo.

This is truly a unique find. I have never seen another like it before.
