Antique Child's Domed Toy Chest Trunk

This is a circa 1900 antique child's toy chest trunk. It is composed of cardboard and paper over a wood frame. It measures 13" long x 5.75" tall x 8" deep. There are simple pressed metal handles on each end, a lock plate on the front, and matching hinges. One handle is missing. There is no key to the lock.

Inside the lid is an image of a sailing ship and a map of the Caribbean, an allusion to this being a pirate treasure chest I assume.

Condition: This little trunk is well played with and has taken some abuse. On the outside the decorative paper cover has a lot of wear, including 2 gouges on the top and piece of the banding missing from the front. One metal handle is missing and there is no key. There is a slight separation on both top end edges. Inside the ribbon tapes that held the lid up are broken. Note: for the missing piece of banding on the front a possible fix would be to use a scanner to print out a duplicate and paste that in place.

This would make a great trunk for an antique doll.
