This is a small Eskimo Inuit doll from the early 1900s. The doll measures 8.25" tall. The doll is largely made from leather and fur. He or she is wearing matching fur moccasins and hooded jacket, trimmed with red dyed leather, and edged with gray rabbit(?) fur. There is simple beading around the bottom edge of the coat. The face is also leather with nicely stitched features.The pants appear to have once had fur also but have lost most of the fur.

Condition: The leather is dry and stiff. There is old insect damage to the leather of the pants.

This is a fine early example of an Eskimo doll.
