AT AUCTION 18K Yellow Gold Ornate Victorian Mourning Band Ring 1885

This is a fine 18K (stamped and tested) ornate Victorian hair mourning band ring. The ring is approximately a size 7 3/4. The ring is 6.4 mm wide and weighs 4.3 g.

The ring has a center plaque engraved "MG", and 5 equally spaced windows around the band. An engraved woven ribbon design weaves around the oval openings. The ring is hollow inside, and within this channel is placed a woven band of brown hair. The interior of the ring is engraved "J.M.O. April 12, 1885".

The condition of the ring is good. It's a beauty!
