This wonderful tureen is quite a nice find from a South Louisiana estate and is in near mint condition. It is the handpainted Lexington Rose pattern by Red Wing Pottery and is hallmarked on the bottom with the Red Wing mark. Red Wing was noted for their unusual design in dinnerwear and this is no exception. Very few of these tureens are seen in such good condition today as the applied handles are easily broken. This lovely tureen bowl is approximately 8 1/2" in diameter and the applied curved handle is 5" long. The lid also has a small "S" curved applied handle. There are no chips or cracks and the hand painting is exquisite! This bowl actually appears to have never been used. A tiny bit of crazing can be seen if you look very closely. This is one of the best pieces of this line that I have seen.
