Vintage 1950's Blue & White Cotton 2 Piece RAB VLV Patio Squaw Dress Set

Here's a great rockabilly cowgirl outfit by "Arizona Original" from Tucson, Arizona, with an embroidered Kokopeli on the tag. These were especially popular in the mid to late 50's and are often referred to as Squaw or patio dresses.

This one is particularly interesting as the print just SMACKS of Scandinavian design, and also has trim that is decidedly more Euro than southwestern. All the same, though, it is made in a great western swing or polka style with a totally full circle skirt (waist is a 1.5" wide band that is a tiny 26" , the hem is pink finished and an AMAZING 136" around!!). You can BET you can turn some heads when you're two stepping or square dancing in THIS!

The top and skirt are completely separate (we shot the skirt with a separate denim top, too) but are selling as a 2 piece set.

The top has side and princess darts for fit, and an underarm zipper (metal, Talon) that zips from the hem up. It measures about 38" at the bust, the waist is about 28". It is 22" from shoulder to hem. There is some slight oxidation at the front of the armseyes, but this is in otherwise great dancing condition!

As we were working with the photographs, it occured to us that if a white apron were added to this outfit, it would make a really cute Dorothy (from the Wizard of Oz) Halloween costume! Just add pigtails, a basket with Toto and ruby slippers!
