We are on our annual buying trip, so our next shipping dates are Dec 1, 2 & 3; after that we'll ship Jan 1st. Happy Holidays
This feels like a thick cotton (except for the lurex threads); it is made of 3 panels of 36" wide fabric, with the selvage edges used as the seam finishes.
There are no fiber or maker labels, leading us to believe this was custom sewn; the use of the 7" metal diecast Crown zipper dates it at the early 1950s, if not before; however the pleated waist is more indicative of late 1950s to early 1960s design elements.
The skirt is pleated around the top and set into a waistband. It is finished as a 24.5" waist, however there is an additional 4" along the inside of the waist band which COULD be let out if all the pleats were re-fitted, however it would require a lot of time and energy (and therefore cost quite a bit, as well).
The waistband is not quite 1.5" wide, and the skirt is 28" from the bottom of the waistband to the hem, which is has a 96" sweep.
This would be super cute with black tights, boots, and layers of cozy sweaters; perfect fall-into-winter wardrobe classic.

We show this with a very small crinoline underskirt which is not included.
