The fur circles the top of the head, and there is a black double mesh in the top of the hat. It has black velvet prongs on the side to help steady it, so it sits marvelously toward the back, or can be pushed to the front. The circlet style hat was particularly popular in the 1940s, although this could be from as late as the 1950s .

This measures about 5" across the narrow inside rim, and is about 9.5" from the very back to the very front. It is only about 16" around, to sit high.

This is quite pristine. The only flaw we can find is that the velvet on the prongs has worn back a bit (please see close-up photo).

This is a fabulous collectible, absolutely one of a kind. ~~~ PERFECT for that fun Christmas shopping trip up north, or to make a statement at the ski lodge this winter~
