Vintage 60s Mocha & Brown Velvet & Satin Wispy Hat

These little hats are sometimes referred to as band hats, since they have a wired base, and sit on the head from side to side, rather than be pulled down over it. This one is an elegant combination of slivers of satin and velveteen in shades of cocoa and ivory and taupe.

There are accents of a deeper shade of brown with a couple of olive green leaves atop the center, and a sprinkling of faux pearls, made to look a bit like flower stamens.

Honestly, we thought the flower sat at the front, at first, but this is very cute with the flower toward the back. So, we suggest you wear as you wish, whichever way you feel is most appealing! (Notice photos showing it both ways.)

This measures about 10" from side to side, it is about 5" at its widest. It has a velvet wired under-structure with a sturdy mesh lace base. It is quite clean, however we did notice a couple of the wisps could perhaps use a gentle steaming.

Often these hats were worn by bridesmaids, and we have also seen them worn to church on Sunday's. This nice neutral color palette is complementary for all seasons, too.
