This sweet blouse is made of a Dan River fabric developed in 1956 called Wrinkl-Shed with Dri Don, a true "wash and wear" fabric made from comfortable jacquard woven cotton.

It is a lightweight oxford cloth base with a delicate pastel pink and blue stripe, please see the close-up photo of the fabric, it is a visual delight with particular care taken in mitering the collar points!

This blouse is a simple design with a contrast/horizontal striped yoke shoulder back, roll-up 3/4 to 1/2 sleeves and no darts. All seams are French finished.

Laid flat this measures 18.5" across the front under the arms. It is 21" from center back of the neck to the hem. The neck point to shoulder point measures 4.5". It is 13.25" across the back shoulders at the yoke seam. The sleeve measures 16" from shoulder point to (sleeve) hem, and 12.5" from underarm seam to sleeve hem. It is 34" around the hem.

Condition: This is pristine clean which is remarkable on such a very white blouse. We found a small (1/16" x 3/16") hole near the bottom button. The turn and stitched hem has a strip of about 1.25" on the underside next to the right seam that is unstitched and beginning to fray, as is a 3/4" section under the left side front corner hem. These hem issues are not visible when worn. And we also just found a 1/4" fray along the edge about 1" below the second button. Please see all close-up photos.

We often hear this type of top referred to as a "Laura Petrie" blouse as she favored and wore them often on "The Dick Van Dyke Show" in the 1960s. It is also cute as can be worn open (as a jacket) over a camisole.

Classic blouse. Beautiful fabrication.
