French Opaline Hand Painted Scent Bottle

This is a beautiful white Opaline glass scent bottle, European in origin. The Opaline glass is hand-painted with leaves and flowers, butterflies and bees and a bird in a Moriage technique. Most pieces that I've seen like this have a lot of wear to the hand painting. This is an exceptional piece that shows almost no wear whatsoever to the hand-painted part. The painting is very intricate and remains just beautiful. Both the stopper and the bottle have the number 24 hand-painted on them, so both were originally made for each other. The ruffle top stopper is ground and it fits very snugly. It has one tiny flea bite on a ruffle. It is trimmed in hand-painted gold and that part, only on the stopper, does show wear. This is blown glass and it has a rough pontil. When the stopper is in place, it has a height of 10 1/8 inches. This is an exceptional vintage Opaline glass scent bottle, in exceptional vintage condition.
