This is an Early American Pattern Glass butter dish. The pattern is called "Banner", also known as "Three Shields". This Vaseline glass dish was made by Bryce in the 1880's, and is possibly a Centennial piece. Originally this had a top. Over the many long years of its life, the top has disappeared. It is 7 1/2 inches long by approximately 6 inches wide. It is 2 inches deep. As you would expect to find, it has a few rough spots. When placed under a black light, this glows a beautiful yellow green color. Overall condition is excellent for glass from this era.
