Restored 2 part Gilded Gesso Picture Frame with German Print~Dog and Children

This beautifully restored 2 part, gilded gesso picture frame, with hidden corners includes the wonderful German print. The overall dimensions of this frame are 24 1/2" wide by 27 1/2" tall. The outside frame, (24 1/2" w x 27 1/2" t. The out side frame, ( 24 1/2" w x 27 1/2" t is 3 1/2" wide. The inside frame is 18" wide by 21" tall and is 2" wide. The actual inside opening is 14 1/2" wide by 17 1/2" tall. The overall width of the 2 parts is 5 1/2". This frame appears to be 4 parts.

The images of the 2 young girls with there dog is quite charming. The muted Victorian colors are complimented by the details captured in the scene. The print is in very good condition. There are 2 places where the color is worn. The first is around the area of the seated child's blond hair. The other is in the right hand area around the top of the flower pot. Neither one distracts from the over all condition of the print. It is not new.

The frame has been correctly restored in our shop. This piece is beautiful. The pictures shown here do not do justice to showing the prints actual condition this print has no fading the colors are brilliant. If you are into Victorian picture frames, don't let this one get away.
