Here is another delightful confection I found in storage recently. The problem with collecting is that after 30 years, I simply don't remember when or where I picked up this lovely outfit!

The quality on this Victorian outfit is outstanding, and it appears barely worn (just look at the interior stays to see how fresh and unworn this outfit is). The dress appears small because this outfit is a size XS and my mannequin is a size Medium.

I believe the material is silk with black on black polka dots accented with a patterned design of wheat in yellow against the black background. There is a six pleated front panel, tightly tailored arms and material which folds back against the wrist. There is a ruffled trim on the bottom of the blouse.

There are 10 stays inside the blouse, and almost all the stays are reinforced. The interior is lined in high-quality muslin. The blouse has minor wear including light staining underneath the armpits (not showing on the outside of the blouse), two metal stays are poking out of the sleeve, a couple pinholes in the fabric and pinsize stains and a repair behind the neck with thread.

There are multiple interior hooks up the front of the bodice, including hooks to catch onto an interior corset.

The skirt is meant to showcase the bodice. The skirt appears to be made from fine cotton, with the soft brushed cotton side turned inside. The matching silk wheat material is applied to the plain skirt as a matching embellishment, and a ruffle is added with double stitching.

There is a heavy single hook on the back of the skirt. There are a few pinhole sized holes in the silk polka dot wheat trim.
