The rosette is made up of vintage ribbons, folded onto each other and than layered to create a blooming flower. The layers are peach and aqua, and this delicate flower has never been used. The rose measures 10" across.
The back of the flower is unfinished, to either insert a powder puff, and maybe a handling stick or else snap closures to make a hanky carrier.
There is minor natural staining on the back of the piece in the circle fabric, but the front ribbonwork is absolutely pristine, with only one folded flower to steam straight agaiin.
This is a great piece to add to your boudoir or vanity table, or finish the circle to make it into a pillow for your bed. The first photo is the best color match.
Estimated year: 1920
Estimated value: If this piece was finished off with a period powder puff and stick, it would be worth $150+.
