Antique Burl Wood Snuff Lined In Horn

This lovely burl wood snuff box has a lining which appears to be horn. It is probably English, and dates from the mid 19th century. The burl wood has a large checked pattern all over the box which I believe was painted on. There appears to be a small piece of mother of pearl in a diamond shape at the center of the top. The box measures 3" by 1 3/4" and is approximately 1/2" deep. Altogether a great presentation.

Overall condition is good showing some minor wear commensurate with age. It opens and closes with ease.
