8 Piece Hand Painted Dresden Dresser Set

Used on a ladies dresser in the Victorian era, the set consists of a 12 3/4" scalloped dresser tray, a small pin tray, and 3 powder jars with lids, with the central powder jar slightly larger than the other two. The hand-painted designs are lovely florals of various sizes. The colors of the set are purple, yellow, red, orange, blue and green on a white china background. All the borders are outlined in a medium shade of green. The markings on the back of each piece indicate "Dresden".

Several decorating studios emerged in Dresden, this Saxony capitol, during the 19th century. In 1883 four prominent ceramics decorators registered the well known blue crown mark, and this gave rise to the Dresden style.

The condition of all pieces in this set is excellent, with no chips, lines, or crazing present.
