Lovely Portrait Miniature On Ivory/Madame Recamier

This lovely little portrait miniature is painted on ivory. She looks to me like the famous "Madame Recamier" renowned French beauty of the late 18th to early 19th century.

This portrait was obtained from a fabulous estate of a noted miniature collector. She wrote on the back, "Padina Borghese", so I am not quite sure who is correct. You be the judge.

No matter, she is still a lovely little portrait , oval in shape and housed in a rectangular frame.

The portrait measures 1" by 1 1/4" and the entire piece measures 2" by 2 1/2". The frame is brass with a blue velvet surrounding the portrait. It has a loop on the back for hanging.

Both the frame and portrait are in fine condition.
