A gorgeous tea pot probably from the Kinkozan factory in Japan and made in the Meiji period (1868-1911).

This Satsuma piece is made of earthenware and has a creamy beige crackle glaze which has been decorated with exquisite detailing. It has figural designs of men, perhaps scholars or warriors. There is a numerous amount of gilt tracery all over the pot.

This wonderful antique piece stands 7" high including the lid and measures 8" handle to spout. The bottom is signed with the Shimazu family crest, Dai Nippon stamp, ans the factory crest which I cannot locate in mark books but is probably Kinkosan.

It is in fine shape with perhaps some gold ware on the spout and handle.

Please Note: Advanced approval is required on any international shipments before placing of orders.

Thanks for looking.
