Victorian Figural Silverplate Owl Watch Holder

This delightful little creature sits on a branch and peers out at the world. Perhaps used as a watch holder it dates to the late 19th century. The base has a raised floral and leaf design and measures 2 1/4" by 1 3/4". The owl itself measures 1 3/4" tall and the entire piece stands 4 1/4" tall.

The underside has four feet and says Hartford Silverplate Co. Quadruple plate. Silverplate was used quite frequently at this time period and all kinds of objects were made from it. He could stand nicely on your shelf or dresser or perhaps hold grandpa's pocket watch.

Condition is excellent although he has lost his original shine. I think the patina makes him look more antique.
