Wonderful Victorian Pendant With Enamel

This wonderful pendant is a real antique treasure done in the Etruscan revival style, very popular with the Victorians in the latter half of the 19th century. This charming piece measures 2 1/4" in length and is 1" wide at its widest point. It is made of gold toned metal, probably brass with gold over the top and has a central rectangular plaque of peacock blue enameling on which is hand painted a white bird on its nest. A most unusual piece which would look great on one of your slide chains.

Overall condition is good with some slight loss to one side of the enameling, not easily visible without a magnifying glass.
