Rosenthal "Carmen" pattern 13 piece Desert Set - Late 19th Century

This stunning Rosenthal desert set consists of one large handled serving platter measuring 11 3/4", and 12 individual cake plates measuring 8 ½" each. The serving platter is colored a pale lavender, with gold trim, and has a central picture of a nymph on a rock. The dozen cake plates come in 3 colors; lavender, blue and green. There are 4 of each color, and all have gold trim and a central picture of ladies or nymphs. There are 4 different scenes in all.

The markings on the backs indicate the manufacturer as Rosenthal Bavaria. With the mark dating the set between 1891 and 1906. The condition of all 13 pieces is excellent, with no chips, cracks or crazing present.
