This stunning powder jar of gilded brass ormolu was made by Apollo Studios at the beginning of the 20th century. The lid has a hand painted portrait of a Victorian lady in a pink hat. It is surrounded by beautiful raised metal work designs on a black enamel background. The base has beautiful metal work designs of urns and scrolls. The piece has a removable glass insert and was used to hold power or creams. The underside is marked Apollo 3478. It measures 4 1/2" in diameter and is 2 1/2" tall. It ...
