We have a lovely selection of gifts for your special Valentine
The elaborate, extremely well made, silver plated holder is from the Poole Silver Company, Taunton. Mass. and is marked quadruple plate. We cleaned this piece just enough to look for damage. You'll notice the feet are still a darker color. This was extremely tarnished when we procured it. It will need a bit more cleaning.
The handle has a twisted pattern with beading overlapping this. The top of the handle comes to a point in a flowery Art Nouveau pattern. The four feet match this area.
The glass bowl measures 10.5" in diameter and has a pedestal base. The silver plated stand measures 11.5" in diameter and 11.75" high to top of handle.
These pieces were typically given as wedding gifts to the bride in the late 1880's to around 1905 when they fell out of favor.
This is a stunning display piece!
