Item marked "Sterling" and initials NM; I believe this item is Mexican made. Vintage piece most likely from the Taxco area; pre 1948.
Here we have a fabulous hand crafted artisan brooch and pendant in one. This piece is kite shaped with a beautifully faceted 37 carat (Yes, you read it correctly; 37 Carats!) blue Topaz. "V" prongs hold the kite shaped stone in place. The carat weight of the Topaz has been verified by a jeweler.
Nestled next to the topaz are three single Citrine cabochons. To balance this piece there is a dark purple Amethyst cabochon at the other end point. All cabochons are bezel set. These are all authentic gemstones, not simulated or lab created.
This piece is actually two in one. A sleeve with a chain hoop slips over the pin to turn this into a stunning pendant. I have pictured this on the hammered neck cuff which you will find in another listing; it is not part of this purchase. Setting is all silver and is hand crafted to fit the gemstones. Notice the great pattern on the silver surfaces.
You will not find another piece like this. It is one of kind and a gorgeous, gorgeous item!
