This gorgeous yard long Victorian rose painting dates aprox 1880's. It is an oil on canvas. Depicted are luscious Cape Cod roses in buttercream yellow pastels. The roses are just incredibly beautiful and skillfully rendered, with lush green foliage. The canvas is nailed to the stretchers with the old round nail heads. The painting is in very good condition with very little wear. It has no rips/tears/repairs/crazing. It was very well cared for. It's so hard to find these big ones, with no rips in them, but this one is great, see the backside photo. Yard Long prints were made by various artists, such as Paul de Longpre, C. Klein, Janus, and Heinmuller. Yard long paintings are wonderful accent pieces over your bed, French doors, kitchen windows, over couches, and make dramatic centerpieces for wall groupings.
