1905 Antique Victorian VIOLETS Print – Paul de Longpre Chromolithograph

This oh so gorgeous (!) violets print is by the Victorian illustrator, Paul de Longpre. As only de Longpre could do, he showcases spectacular deep purple violets in a tall corset vase, complete with gold scrollwork embellishment. In Victorian times, the little violet symbolized “Faithfulness”. This print is a chromolithograph, and was made in 1905 by the Gray Lithographic Company of New York. It is complete, and the size of the print is 10.5 x 14 inches. It is housed in a contemporary whitewashed frame, which has high relief gesso scrollwork that sets off the print beautifully. Framed size is 14 x 17 inches. The print is in very good condition with very minimal handling wear. Please excuse any flash glare streaks you see in the photos, they are NOT on the print.
