This sweet old print is by the Victorian artist, Hector Giacomelli. He was very well known for his bird illustrations, and this one of baby mice is incredibly sweet. The colors are vivid, as it was never framed, and the expressions on the little mouse faces are wonderful. This study is an old 1890's chromolithograph and has thick lustrous color. It is in fine condition and housed in a creamy white wooden frame, with ornate brass corner embellishments in a flower and shell cartouche. It measures aprox 8.5 x 15.5 inches framed. Be sure to check out the matching print of little birds! Giacomelli was a peer of both Paul de Longpre and C. Klein. Please excuse any glass glare in the photos.
