This spectacular, richly hued yard long print of double violets is by the Victorian artist, Henri Le Roy. He was a peer of both Paul de Longpre and C. Klein, and his studies are just a beautiful. This one is really quite grand, which includes a crystal bowl of violets with other violets strewn nearby, awaiting their turn to be added to the composition. I have NEVER had one this rich in color tones, this one is indeed superb! It was called "Violets 1020", and is an old chromolithograph from the 1890's. It is what is called a "self matted study", where the margin area is used for its own matting. This print is in fine condition, with only a slight wrinkle to the right of the bowl, hardly seen. It is housed in a creamy white wooden frame, which has ornate brass corner embellishments in the Art Noveau design, featuring a lily. It measures 13.5 x 41.5 inches, impressive to say the least, and would be spectacular over an entry doorway, couch, bed, or kitchen nook. I hardly ever get the yardlongs these days, let alone even find them, and this one is terrific! Shipping is an estimate for FedEx. Please excuse any glass glare in the photos, as I had to get in real close to get the pictures. It's so much better in person!
