This gorgeous yard long print is by the Victorian artist, Newton Wells. He was painting about the same time as his peers Paul de Longpre and C. Klein, and he too, also excelled at rose and flower studies. This one is called "A Yard of Roses", and has oodles of multicolored cabbage roses that are just incredibly beautiful. This old chromolithograph was created back in 1908 by the Gray Lithographic Company of New York. It is in very good to fine condition, with only a small and very light round watermark at the far right edge, hardly visible. It has NO rips, tears, or repairs. This wonderful piece is housed in a creamy white wooden frame, which has three dimensional brass corner brackets that set off the piece just great. Overall size with the frame is 14 x 38.5 inches. These old yard long prints are just perfect over a doorway, nook area, fireplace, the bed, even the kitchen sink! As a child, I remember my aunt Hanna having one she would hang over her bed, and it gave such a peaceful impression to the room. Please excuse any glass glare in the photos.
