This ANTIQUE, old, 1890's pansies print is by the Victorian illustrator, Paul de Longpre. It has glorious, superbly-detailed pansies in vintage hues. It is signed lower left Paul de Longpre, 1896, and would have been completed while he was still living on the East Coast. This is one of the harder-to-find LARGE format prints.

The sight area is aprox 14 x 19 inches, and the size under the mat is 15 x 20 inches. This old chromolithograph was originally published by Kaufmann & Strauss. It has an inner mat of plum, and the outer mat has a fine linen finish that compliments the print just perfectly. Even the frame is beautiful, with a dark patina that has a scrolly art noveau design, encompassing both mahogany and plum tones that go very well with the pansies. The overall size with the frame is aprox 22 x 27 inches. It is truly a magnificent example of de Longpre's handiwork. The print is in very good condition with just a tiny bit of wear, a couple specks, to the upper right, hardly seen at all and not in the image area. Please note there is some flash glare in the photos, those whitish streaks are not on the print.
