Welcome to my shop, where quality & satisfaction is guaranteed. LAYAWAY plans available. All reasonable offers considered.
This has been in my personal collection for a very long time. I wore it a few times, but it’s been tucked away for far too long. It definitely needs to be seen, whether it’s worn and/or displayed.
Please note some of the photos have been lightened to show the ornate detail.
I am not exaggerating when I say this crucifix necklace is huge. The crucifix alone is 4” long & 2 ½” wide. The necklace links are done in three sizes, one size is quite large, measuring 1 1/8” long & ¾” wide, the next size is 1” long & 5/8” wide & the smallest is 7/8” long & 5/8” wide. As you can see, some links are flat & some are turned sideways, giving it an even more massive look.
There are four links that connect the crucifix to the necklace, all done in various sizes/shapes.
The necklace retains its original closure hook & ring closure.
The overall length of the entire necklace is approximately 15”.
The condition is superb and what I would consider near mint. There is a teensy rough area on the 3rd link next to the end (see last photo). I never cleaned this piece the entire time I had it, so it’s dusty, but obviously this is not a flaw; it’s being noted for complete accuracy.
If you are a collector of Gutta Percha items, then I don’t have to tell you how rare this piece is; it’s truly Museum Quality all the way. If you just love Victorian or Mourning jewelry, then this necklace is definitely a must have.
